Highway 69 Paving Starts Monday Between Monroe and Monticello

Highway 69 drivers between Monroe and Monticello should prepare for another round of daytime delays beginning Monday, Oct. 19, as milling and paving gets underway on the southern portion of the project.

The work had previously been anticipated to begin the week of Oct. 12, but the latest construction update from Jim Grender, P.E., of CGC, Inc., now puts the start on Monday, Oct. 19.

Crews are expected to mill and pave between Monroe and Monticello using flagging operations. The work is anticipated to take eight to nine days over the next two weeks, weather permitting.

Highway 69 and County C/Urban Road remain open to traffic, so there is no return to the full summer detour. Instead, motorists should expect delays throughout the working day as traffic is moved through active work zones.
