New Glarus Football Schedule Shows New Conference Path
The New Glarus Glarner Knights open 2026 with road trips to Cambridge and Cuba City, a rivalry showdown with Belleville and a challenging first season in the SWAL, where Darlington, Fennimore and Mineral Point await.
An early look at the 2026 New Glarus Glarner Knights varsity football schedule offers a glimpse of what the program’s move to the Southwest Wisconsin Activities League (SWAL) conference will mean on the field, with a mix of familiar rivals, new conference trips and several historically strong programs ahead.
New Glarus opens Aug. 21 at Cambridge before hosting Belleville on Aug. 28 in one of the area’s most familiar rivalries. The Belleville game will be the Glarner Knights’ first home game of the regular season and one of four scheduled home games at New Glarus High School.
The conference portion of the schedule begins Sept. 4 at Cuba City, followed by a Sept. 11 home game against Darlington. That matchup stands out immediately. Darlington finished the 2025 regular season 9-0 overall and 7-0 in SWAL play, according to 2025 all-conference information published by Mineral Point schools.
