Police Report: Attempted Break-In Leads to Prowling Citation, Police Calls Rise
New Glarus police responded to 514 calls in May, investigating thefts, crashes and a domestic disturbance while handling special events, traffic enforcement and training as calls for service increased sharply from a year ago.
May brought 514 calls for service in New Glarus, including several crashes, theft reports, a domestic disturbance, a prowling citation and a successful Bike Rodeo.
The New Glarus Police Department responded to 514 calls for service in May, according to the department’s monthly report submitted June 4 by Chief Jeff Sturdevant.
That was up from 372 calls during the same month last year and brought the department’s year-to-date total to 1,958.
Police also reported 92 assists to other agencies or departments, 83 traffic and municipal citations, 54 traffic warnings, 73 parking citations and six traffic accidents during the month. One person was incarcerated or jailed in May.
