New Glarus Plans Asphalt Work at Three Intersections
The Village of New Glarus is seeking a contractor for pavement improvements at three intersections, including mill-and-overlay work on 2nd Street and Railroad Street and a more substantial asphalt pavement project at 7th Street and 12th Avenue.
The Village of New Glarus is preparing for asphalt improvements at three village intersections as part of its 2026 street maintenance work.
The project calls for a 2-inch mill and overlay at the intersections of 2nd Street and 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue and Railroad Street. The process generally involves removing the upper portion of the existing asphalt surface before installing a new layer of pavement.
A separate portion of the project calls for 4 inches of asphalt pavement at the intersection of 7th Street and 12th Avenue. The village’s bid documents do not specify why that location will receive a different pavement treatment.
The village intends to select a single contractor to complete all three portions of the project. Public Works Director Scott McNett is listed as the village contact for questions related to the work.
