Some residents used the Town of Primrose annual meeting to question whether New Glarus Area EMS can continue delivering timely, sustainable service after its territory was reduced by the launch of Sugar River EMS.

Some residents and board members asked questions Tuesday night at the Town of Primrose annual meeting regarding the town’s existing contract with New Glarus Area EMS, concerned that the shrinking service area raises serious questions about response quality, long-term stability and whether the current structure can continue to meet the needs of Primrose residents.

The concern comes after the Town and Village of New Glarus joined Belleville and five townships in the newly formed Sugar River EMS District, leaving only parts of Primrose, the Town of York, Town of Perry, and Town of Mount Pleasant among the areas still served by the old New Glarus EMS structure.
