Team Edelweiss retained the Swiss Cup with a 40.5-19.5 victory over Monroe Golf Club in the annual Ryder Cup-style competition played Saturday in Monroe and Sunday at Edelweiss Chalet Country Club in New Glarus.

Edelweiss entered Sunday with a 21.5-14.5 advantage before sweeping the first six better-ball matches of the day, quickly expanding its lead and eventually putting the competition out of reach.

The Swiss Cup is a two-day, 54-hole match-play competition between the clubs, with 27 holes scheduled each day. Twelve players represent each club.

Players compete in three different nine-hole matches each day. The first 18 holes are played with partners, beginning with a nine-hole better-ball match followed by a nine-hole alternate-shot match. The final nine holes are scheduled as singles matches.
