Town Board Tables Truck, Camera Decisions
Public comment drew nearly 20 people and a mix of complaints and questions Wednesday as the Town of New Glarus Board approved some garage spending authority while tabling several equipment, road and ordinance decisions.
The Town of New Glarus Board met for about three hours Wednesday, July 8, at the new town garage, taking action on several items while delaying decisions on a future plow truck, security cameras, speed limits, a pressure washer and shipping container ordinance changes.
Supervisor Dan Gartzke was the lone board member absent.
The public comment portion of the meeting drew nearly 20 people and the tone was active and pointed, with residents raising a mix of complaints and questions across several subjects rather than focusing on a single issue.
One of the larger actions Wednesday involved the new town garage. The board approved giving a newly formed finance committee, including supervisors Mark Pernitz and Matt Streiff, the authority to approve up to $100,000 in change orders connected to garage-related work.
