Dairy Days, Horse Fun Show Bring Youth to Fairgrounds
Two June 13 events at the Green County Fairgrounds will put young people in the show ring, with Dairy Days celebrating June Dairy Month and 4-H inviting riders to a low-pressure Horse Fun Show.
MONROE, Wis. — Two youth agriculture events will bring families to the Green County Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 13, with the Green County Dairy Days Cattle Show and the Green County 4-H Horse Fun Show both scheduled in Monroe.
The events are separate, but together they offer a fitting June snapshot of Green County’s agricultural life: dairy cattle in one ring, horses in another, and young people learning by doing.
The Green County Dairy Days Cattle Show, sponsored by the Green County Ag Chest, is a free, one-day youth show held during June Dairy Month. Youth from Green County and surrounding counties are invited to lead their dairy heifers in the show ring, with no participation fees charged to exhibitors. Exhibitors receive ribbons, awards, trophies, and premiums as a reflection of their hard work in training and taking care of their dairy heifers.
“We are very proud to offer a free cattle show that allows any youth from 3rd grade through one year beyond high school with a heifer and interest to show off their heifers and their skills,” stated Laura Vosberg, co-chairperson of the cattle show.
