Downtown New Glarus Trick-or-Treating Set for Sunday
Costumed children and their families will take over downtown New Glarus for an afternoon of Halloween fun, with local businesses offering treats and a community organization joining the festivities at one of the village's historic taverns.
The New Glarus Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Downtown Trick or Treat event Sunday, Oct. 25, from 2 to 4 p.m., inviting children and their families to visit participating downtown businesses for an afternoon of Halloween fun.
Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and explore downtown New Glarus, collecting candy and other treats from participating businesses. The event offers families an opportunity to enjoy trick-or-treating during daylight hours while visiting local shops.
Families can begin their trick-or-treating adventure at the New Glarus Chamber Depot, 418 Railroad St., where maps identifying participating businesses will be available. Halloween markers displayed throughout downtown will also help families identify businesses taking part in the festivities.
New Glarus Cares Community Foundation will also participate in this year's event, handing out candy in front of Puempel's Olde Tavern, 18 Sixth Ave. Families are encouraged to stop by and say hello while making their way through downtown.
