Gov. Evers Visits New Glarus Ahead of Fair Maps Session
Tony Evers met Monday with local election workers at New Glarus Village Hall before today’s special session on a proposed constitutional amendment targeting partisan gerrymandering.
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers visited New Glarus Village Hall on Monday, April 13, where he met with local election workers and village officials ahead of a special session of the Wisconsin State Legislature scheduled for noon Tuesday, April 14. The session was called by Evers to consider a constitutional amendment that would ban partisan gerrymandering in Wisconsin.
During the stop, Evers discussed what he described as the importance of fair maps for the future and thanked local election officials for their work in helping maintain Wisconsin’s elections. Coverage of the visit reported that he met with local election workers in New Glarus on the eve of the special session.
