Green County Added to Spongy Moth Quarantine
Green County has been added to Wisconsin’s spongy moth quarantine after trapping data showed the invasive insect is now widely established, bringing new movement rules for outdoor goods and wood products.
MONROE, Wis. — Green County has been added to Wisconsin’s state and federal spongy moth quarantine after trapping data showed the invasive insect is now widely established in the county, according to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
Sawyer County was also added, bringing the total number of quarantined Wisconsin counties to 56 of 72. The quarantine now applies to most of eastern and central Wisconsin, including Green County.
