New Glarus Coach Named National Soccer Finalist
A New Glarus resident and Sugar River soccer coach has been named one of five national finalists for the 2026 USL Hometown Heroes Award, recognizing her work to make youth soccer more accessible for kids and families.
Haley Brisky did not set out looking for national recognition. Her work has been the quieter kind: coaching young players, helping families find a place in the game and building soccer programs that keep kids involved, included and active.
Now that work has placed the New Glarus resident in the national spotlight.
Brisky has been selected as one of five finalists nationwide for the 2026 United Soccer League Hometown Heroes Award, presented by Best Western Hotels & Resorts. The award recognizes people across the country who are using soccer to make a lasting impact in their communities.
Brisky was nominated by Forward Madison FC for her work as president of Millennium Soccer Club, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to make youth soccer accessible to every child, regardless of financial circumstances.
