Representatives from Belleville Area EMS, the New Glarus Fire Department and the New Glarus Police Department were recognized Monday evening following a life-saving response to a medical emergency last week.

The incident occurred Wednesday, April 15, in the parking lot of the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus, where a man suffered a sudden medical emergency that quickly escalated into a critical situation. According to emergency radio traffic, the patient stopped breathing at one point, prompting CPR to begin almost immediately.
