New Glarus Invitational Brings Strong Field to Edelweiss

The New Glarus Glarner Knights turned in one of their strongest team performances of the season Wednesday, placing fourth out of 12 teams at the New Glarus Invitational held at Edelweiss Chalet Country Club in New Glarus.

On a beautiful spring afternoon that featured brisk early winds and fast greens, the Knights posted a team score of 348, finishing just two strokes behind third-place Lake Mills in a tightly packed field. Lancaster won the invitational with a 332, followed by Monroe at 337.

The conditions made scoring difficult early in the round as players battled gusty winds across the front nine. As the afternoon progressed and the wind eased, New Glarus began to settle in and make a push up the leaderboard.
