The New Glarus Police Department was among multiple agencies called Friday after an intoxicated student ran from a parent at Belleville High School, prompting a school hold and a wider public safety search.
BELLEVILLE, Wis. — The New Glarus Police Department was among the agencies that responded Friday afternoon after an intoxicated student ran from a parent in the Belleville High School parking lot, prompting a hold inside the school and a broader search for the student.
According to a press release from Belleville Police Chief Chris P. Hughes, officers were dispatched at about 3:18 p.m. March 27 after the student fled into a wooded area behind the school. School officials placed the building in a hold as a precaution while police and staff searched.
