New Glarus Defeats Belleville in Rivalry Game
The New Glarus Glarner Knights used 12 hits, strong pitching and error-free defense Tuesday night to earn a 6-2 rivalry victory over Belleville at home.
The New Glarus Glarner Knights picked up another rivalry win Tuesday night, defeating Belleville 6-2 behind a balanced offensive attack and solid pitching performance on their home field.
New Glarus collected 12 hits and played clean defensively in a game that remained close through the early innings before the Glarner Knights pulled away with runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Belleville finished with five hits and four errors.
Belleville struck first in the top of the second inning when Randy Raven drove in a run. New Glarus answered in the bottom half to tie the game at 1-1 and then took control with a two-run fourth inning.
