New Glarus’ Schadewalt Opens Maryville Season Against Iowa

Former Glarner Knights basketball standout Lindsey Schadewalt is preparing for her junior season at Maryville University outside of St. Louis, with an opening exhibition against the University of Iowa giving hometown fans an early opportunity to follow her on the court.

Maryville will face the Hawkeyes at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. The game will stream on B1G+, the Big Ten Network’s subscription streaming service, rather than the regular Big Ten Network television channel. It is also the closest Maryville will play to New Glarus during the regular season, giving hometown fans their best opportunity to see Schadewalt play in person this year.

The 2024 New Glarus High School graduate enters the 2026-27 season as one of Maryville’s most productive returning players. Last season, the 5-foot-10 guard started all 32 games, led the Saints with 460 points and averaged 14.4 points per contest.

Her shooting numbers were equally notable. Schadewalt made 66 three-pointers while shooting 42.6% from beyond the arc. She also averaged 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Her scoring average rose from 12.3 points as a freshman, when she was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Freshman of the Year.
