New Glarus High School students earned two bronze medals, won a statewide leadership post, and helped their chapter reach one of Wisconsin’s highest SkillsUSA honors after competing in Madison.

New Glarus High School students Sydney Doll, Sophie Smith, Eva Gruenenfelder and Maya Martinson earned bronze in entrepreneurship at the SkillsUSA State Competition earlier this month.

MADISON, Wis. – New Glarus High School students turned in a strong showing at the SkillsUSA State Competition on April 7 and 8 at the Alliant Energy Center and Madison Area Technical College, earning two bronze medals and several major program honors, according to the School District of New Glarus. The results also placed New Glarus in a visible leadership position within SkillsUSA at the state level.

Students from New Glarus competed in a broad range of career and technical events, including architectural drafting, woodworking display, team engineering, prepared speech, cosmetology, welding sculpture, entrepreneurship, baking and pastry arts, TeamWorks construction, job skill demonstration and automotive service technology, according to the district.
