Paytin Vandegrift won the distinction "Best of School" for New Glarus. Her acrylic painting, A Thousand Birds, features a secluded pond near a magical stone cottage.

Eight New Glarus High School student artists were selected to represent the school in the Capitol Conference Art Show, which featured student artwork from across the conference during April.

The exhibit was displayed at the Pyle Center on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus and gave young artists a chance to share their work with a broader audience.

A final reception was held Thursday, April 27, bringing together students, families, educators and community members to recognize the work on display.
