New Mexican Food Truck Could Replace Jose’s in New Glarus

A Madison-based Mexican food truck has applied for a Village of New Glarus permit as officials prepare to review the request at next week’s board meeting.

New Mexican Food Truck Could Replace Jose’s in New Glarus

A Madison-based Mexican food truck may soon help fill a gap for New Glarus diners after Jose’s Food Truck said it likely would not return to the village on a regular basis this year. Village trustees are scheduled to review a food truck permit application from Epazote Chilaquiles during their Tuesday, April 15 meeting.

The possible arrival could be welcome news for local Mexican food fans who were disappointed to learn Jose’s Food Truck’s decision not to return to New Glarus was the result of a business decision after sales dropped during the second half of last season. At the time, a company representative told New Glarus 360 the truck might still appear at some festivals, but regular stops in the village were not expected in 2026.
