The Monticello-New Glarus Ponies wrapped up the 2026 Six Rivers Conference softball season Tuesday with a rare doubleheader sweep of Highland, winning 10-3 in Monticello before taking the second game 16-10 on the road later that evening.

Under blue skies and warm spring conditions that carried into a comfortable Tuesday night, the Ponies leaned on timely hitting, aggressive baserunning and steady pitching to close the regular conference schedule on a high note.

Monticello-New Glarus came out quickly in the opener, scoring two runs in the first inning, three more in the second and another two in the third to build a 7-0 advantage before Highland mounted any offense.
