Sanitary Sewer Overflow Reported in New Glarus
Village officials say about 300 gallons of wastewater overflowed near Legler School Branch before operations returned to normal; DNR notified and cleanup has been completed.
The Village of New Glarus has reported a sanitary sewer overflow earlier this week in New Glarus, with approximately 300 gallons of wastewater escaping plant facilities toward the Legler School Branch. The overflow occurred at 1 p.m. Feb. 23 and operations were restored by 3 p.m., according to a Village news release.
The Village of New Glarus Wastewater Plant notified residents in both the Village of New Glarus and the Town of New Glarus about the incident in a release dated Feb. 24. Officials stated the affected area was a grassy section south of the grade school and that cleanup of solids was performed after the plant returned to service.
