MAZOMANIE, Wis. — The Sugar River Raiders overwhelmed Wisconsin Heights-Barneveld Tuesday night, scoring early and often in an 8-0 Capitol Conference girls soccer victory shortened by the mercy rule.
Sugar River, the Belleville/New Glarus cooperative squad, controlled the match from the opening whistle at Wisconsin Heights High School, using balanced scoring and relentless offensive pressure to improve its conference form.
Holly Maynard opened the scoring just 9:34 into the first half off an assist from Kate Parman. Parman then took over offensively, scoring at the 15:30 mark on a setup from Josie Emond before adding another goal at 22:44 with help from Bailey McGuire.
