Town of New Glarus Votes to Allow ATV, UTV Use on Local Roads
After a packed and closely watched town meeting at New Glarus High School, Town of New Glarus residents voted 116-90 in a nonbinding referendum supporting ATV and UTV access on town and county roads, followed by a 3-2 Town Board vote approving the measure.
It was standing-room-only Wednesday night at the New Glarus High School auditorium as residents gathered for one of the most closely watched town meetings in recent memory.

The vote was nonbinding, but it reflected strong community interest — and division — on the issue. With the vote and subsequent board approval, New Glarus became the last town in Green County to authorize ATV and UTV access on local roads.
