ATC Clarifies Timeline for New Glarus Power Line Rebuild
American Transmission Company says major construction on its planned 27-mile Monroe-to-Verona transmission line rebuild will begin later than previously reported, with preliminary field work starting this fall and construction now expected to run from 2028 into 2029.
American Transmission Company (ATC) has provided New Glarus 360 with an updated timeline for its planned rebuild of the 69-kilovolt transmission line running between Monroe and Verona through the New Glarus area.
An ATC spokesperson said pre-construction-related activities are now slated to begin in late fall 2027. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2028, with anticipated completion by summer 2029.
There will, however, be some field work beginning this fall, according to the company.
The updated schedule pushes the major phases of the project roughly a year later than the timeline previously provided to New Glarus 360, which indicated pre-construction activities would begin in fall 2026, construction in spring 2027 and completion in fall 2028.
