Power Outage Hits North Side of New Glarus
A power outage is affecting neighborhoods on the north side of New Glarus, including areas from Duerst Road south to about Third Avenue and primarily west of Second Street. The New Glarus Fire Department is operating on generator power.
UPDATE: Power is slowly being restored. Portions of 3rd Avenue now have power again.
A power outage is affecting portions of the north side of New Glarus, including neighborhoods near Durst Road and areas north of Third Avenue. New Glarus Utilities is aware of the outage and is working to restore power. No timeline is yet available for power to be restored.
The outage appears to be concentrated primarily west of Second Street. The New Glarus Fire Department is also without regular electrical service and is operating on generator power and the New Glarus Home is also without power.
The cause of the outage and an estimated restoration time were not immediately available.
The outage follows a day of high temperatures and another significant power disruption earlier Monday. That outage stretched from the Monticello area south toward Monroe and affected more than 2,300 customers for several hours.
Residents should treat darkened intersections as four-way stops and use caution around utility crews.
