Power Outage Affects Areas South and East of New Glarus Friday Morning
An early morning power outage west of Monticello and in Exeter Township left nearly 300 customers without electricity Friday morning, with restoration expected before 9 a.m.
UPDATE: All outages have been resolved.
UPDATE: Alliant Energy is now predicting service restoration at or before 11:00 a.m.
An early morning power outage left nearly 300 customers without electricity Friday, affecting portions of the towns of Washington, Mount Pleasant and Exeter, as well as a few customers in the Village of Monticello.
According to Alliant Energy, the outage began at 6:40 a.m. and affected 283 customers in the primary outage area. An additional outage affecting four customers in the Town of Exeter was reported at the same time.
Customer reports shared with New Glarus 360 indicate the outage extended across a broad area surrounding Monticello, including portions of several townships and parts of the village itself.
