Quality Cellular Closes New Glarus Store

A longtime fixture for local wireless customers has gone dark.

Quality Cellular, a UScellular and T-Mobile authorized retailer located at 1305 Highway 69 in New Glarus, closed its doors Monday, June 8. A notice posted on the storefront informed customers of the closure.

The shutdown comes less than a year after T-Mobile completed its acquisition of UScellular's wireless operations and follows months of uncertainty about the future of independent authorized retailers across Wisconsin. The store’s Google Maps listing now shows it as “permanently closed.” A call to the store’s phone number also plays a recorded message saying, “This location is permanently closed. Please contact customer service by dialing 611 on your cell phone.”
