A 2025 state-qualifying Pointers squad came to New Glarus looking for a road win and got it in three sets, but the New Glarus Glarner Knights did not let the visitors leave without a fight.
The Pointers took the opening set 25-15 to move in front, but the match tightened considerably from there.
New Glarus went point for point with the Pointers through a marathon second set. The teams pushed well beyond the normal 25-point finish before the Pointers finally escaped with a 31-29 victory and a 2-0 advantage in the match.
The Glarner Knights continued to battle in the third set, but the Pointers closed out the sweep with a 25-20 win.
