A fatal crash near Brodhead, criminal charges in two investigations, several arrests and multiple injury crashes highlighted Green County Sheriff’s Office activity reported from July 6 through July 12, including incidents across rural Green County.
Green County Sheriff’s Office deputies reported a series of crashes, arrests and criminal investigations during the reporting period, including Green County’s fifth traffic fatality of 2026. July 12, 2026:
Accident - Personal Injury
At 12:22 PM, Deputies along with Green County EMS and Monticello Fire Department, responded to a motorcycle crash in the N5400 block of State Highway 69, Town of Washington. Investigation determined that the operator of the motorcycle, Jonathon H. Mikelson, 41, of Waunakee, was northbound, when he lost control of the motorcycle while attempting to pull it back onto the roadway after pulling it onto the shoulder. During the crash Mikelson laid the back down.
