Monticello-New Glarus Ponies Rally Past Clinton 6-4
Monticello-New Glarus used an early burst, a game-changing home run and a steady effort in the circle Saturday, April 11, to hold off Clinton 6-4 in a home win that showed the Ponies’ balance from top to bottom.
Monticello-New Glarus showed Saturday that this lineup does not need to rely on just one bat.
The Ponies scored three runs in the first inning, answered Clinton’s push with another three-run frame in the fourth and rode a complete-game effort from Heidi Olson to a 6-4 home victory over the Clinton Varsity Cougars. Monticello-New Glarus finished with eight hits and left only three runners on base, making the most of its opportunities throughout the afternoon.
