Monticello-New Glarus used patience at the plate and steady pitching to pull away for an 11-1 win over Benton-Shullsburg on Friday in New Glarus. The Ponies broke the game open with a five-run second inning and never looked back.

The win continued a strong stretch for the Ponies, who combined powerful hitting with aggressive baserunning and clean defense to control the game from the middle innings on.
