Wisconsin ATV and UTV riders should expect increased patrols June 5-7 as DNR conservation wardens and county recreation deputies focus on speeding, impaired operation and other unsafe riding behaviors.

More ATV/UTV Patrols This Weekend

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reminding ATV and UTV riders in New Glarus and across Wisconsin to expect increased law enforcement patrols this weekend as part of a statewide safety campaign.

The Think Smart Before You Start campaign runs Friday, June 5, through Sunday, June 7. DNR conservation wardens and county recreation deputies will be patrolling trails and routes, with a focus on speeding, operating while intoxicated and other unsafe riding behavior, according to the DNR.

The reminder comes as ATV and UTV use continues to grow across Wisconsin, including in Green County communities where local routes and rural roads have become part of ongoing conversations about recreation, traffic and public safety.
