Munchkey Apples Offers Autumn Charm and Fall Flavors Near New Glarus
A family-run orchard near New Glarus offers pick-your-own apples, fresh cider donuts, caramel apples and a farm store filled with fall favorites.
Just 15 minutes from New Glarus, tucked along Highway 39 between New Glarus and Hollandale, sits a family-run orchard that has quietly become a seasonal favorite for locals and travelers alike. Munchkey Apples, owned by the Tisch family, is home to more than 9,000 apple trees and a welcoming farm store filled with fresh fruit, baked goods, and fall charm.
“We planted our first trees in 2011 to do something as a family that would benefit the area,” said owner Laura Tisch. “We started with 500 trees back then, and now we have 9,000.”
The orchard’s pick-your-own experience includes popular varieties such as Honeycrisp, Blondee, Gala, Cortland, McIntosh, Fuji, Crimson Crisp, and Crimson Gold. In the store, visitors will also find Zestar! and other locally grown favorites. “Customers can expect a lot of nice apples this year,” Tisch said. “Every variety looks great.”
