New Glarus turned in a strong Friday at the Cambridge Invite, with the girls tying for first place, the boys finishing second, and several Glarner Knights posting event wins and standout early-season marks.
CAMBRIDGE, Wis. — The New Glarus Glarner Knights put together a big night Friday at the Cambridge Invite, as the girls tied Deerfield for the team championship with 121 points competing against 11 teams and the boys placed second with 89 competing against 10 teams. It was another strong showing for a program competing as its own team again this spring for the first time since 1990.
New Glarus got there with balance across the track and field events, piling up relay wins, individual titles and key placings against a large invitational field that included Cambridge, Belleville, Deerfield, Edgerton, Johnson Creek, Lake Mills, Monticello, Parkview and others.
