MINERAL POINT, Wis. — The New Glarus varsity baseball team showed plenty of fight Thursday, storming back from an early hole and grabbing the lead twice before Mineral Point pulled away late for an 11-7 win. The Glarner Knights did not go quietly, putting pressure on the Pointers with disciplined at-bats, aggressive baserunning and several big swings.
New Glarus found itself down 2-0 after the first inning, but the Knights answered in the third. Ethan Colstad came through with a run-scoring double that helped swing momentum, and Brock Roth added to the rally as New Glarus moved in front 3-2.
