New Glarus Rebounds for 2-2 Finish at Argyle
After dropping its first two matches while adjusting to a new offensive alignment, New Glarus found its rhythm in a big way Saturday, sweeping Juda and Black Hawk to finish 2-2 at the Argyle volleyball tournament.
ARGYLE, Wis. — A difficult start turned into an impressive finish Saturday for the New Glarus Glarner Knights.
Playing without starting setter and outside hitter Kalia Malaise because of an injury, New Glarus had to shift from its normal 6-2 offense to a 5-1 alignment. The Glarner Knights struggled to establish a rhythm early, dropping their first two matches before rebounding to win their final four sets of the tournament.
New Glarus opened against host Argyle, falling 25-18, 25-18. The Glarner Knights then pushed Belmont to three sets, winning the opener 25-22 before dropping the next two 25-22 and 15-12.
Coach Kayla Ingwell said the Glarner Knights rebounded and showed grit as the day progressed, ultimately finishing with two victories.
