The New Glarus Village Board faces a busy agenda Wednesday, Sept. 16, with decisions involving housing development, Village Hall renovations, employee compensation, public works equipment and the ongoing 11th Avenue reconstruction project.

One of the most significant items involves the Village-owned parking lot next to the Swiss Historical Village. Village Attorney Bill Morgan, Village Planner Mark Roffers and Village Administrator Kelsey Jenson have prepared a solicitation seeking proposals to develop the property for multifamily housing. The effort was requested by both the Village Board and Swiss Historical Society Board. The solicitation itself is expected to be provided ahead of the meeting.

Trustees will also review the final design and layout for a planned Village Hall renovation. Laura Brusberg of Strand Associates is scheduled to present the design, and Village staff recommends approval. The proposed floor plan reorganizes office and meeting space inside Village Hall, including areas for the administrator, clerk, deputy clerk, utility manager, public works and permits.
