Town Board to Formalize Streiff as Town Chair

Monday’s special meeting will allow supervisors to formally appoint Matt Streiff as Town of New Glarus chair, ending his acting status, before addressing asphalt bids, pest control and a closed session concerning town personnel.

Town Board to Formalize Streiff as Town Chair

The Town of New Glarus Board is scheduled to formally appoint Matt Streiff as town chair during a special meeting at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at the New Town Garage, N8799 Hayes Lane.

Streiff has served as acting town chair since Chris Narveson resigned effective Sept. 9. Monday’s action would remove the acting designation and formally place Streiff in the chair’s position.

The appointment is separate from the process of filling the Town Board seat Streiff vacated when he assumed the chair’s responsibilities. Applications and resumes submitted for that opening are expected to be considered and voted on at a meeting in October.

The board will also consider awarding bids for an asphalt parking lot at the New Town Garage and could act on a proposed monthly pest-control contract with Got Bugs.
