New Glarus Village Board to Review Police Staffing
Trustees will consider hiring a full-time officer, extending temporary shift coverage, reviewing meal reimbursement rates and receiving a 2025 financial audit Wednesday night.
The New Glarus Village Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Village Hall, with police staffing, employee reimbursement rates, the 2025 financial audit and several community event permits on the agenda.
The board is expected to consider Resolution 26-16, which would appoint Alexander Seichter as a full-time police officer beginning in June. The appointment follows a recommendation from the Public Works/Public Safety Committee.
According to information from the village, the department will still face shift coverage challenges while the new officer completes field training, which is expected to continue until about mid-September.
