Sugar River Takes Runner-Up at Home Quad
River opened its Saturday quad in Belleville and New Glarus with a dramatic shootout win over Platteville-Lancaster, then fell 1-0 to Monona Grove in the championship after a strong defensive day from the Raiders.
Sugar River’s cooperative varsity girls soccer team spent much of Saturday proving it can handle pressure. The Raiders opened their home quad with a late setback, answered in a shootout, and finished the day as runner-up after a hard-fought loss to Monona Grove in the championship.
The day’s events began at 9 a.m. and featured Sugar River, Monona Grove, Mount Horeb and Platteville/Lancaster in Belleville/New Glarus.
