Town of New Glarus Reschedules Asphalt Meeting for Sept. 2
After canceling its Sept. 1 special meeting, the Town of New Glarus Board will meet Sept. 2 to rescind the Payne & Dolan asphalt change order and consider soliciting new bids for the same paving work at the town maintenance facility.
The Town of New Glarus Board has scheduled a new special meeting for Wednesday, Sept. 2, one day after canceling a meeting that had been called to reconsider an asphalt change order for the town’s new maintenance facility.
The new meeting will begin at 5 p.m. at the new Town Garage, N8799 Hayes Lane. The board’s agenda calls for rescinding the Payne & Dolan asphalt change order approved Aug. 12, followed by discussion and possible action on soliciting bids for the asphalt work.
That second item is significant because the town is now likely to seek new bids for the same paving work rather than proceed under the previously approved change order.
The board had originally scheduled a special meeting for Sept. 1 solely to consider rescinding the Payne & Dolan change order. That meeting was canceled earlier Tuesday without an explanation being included in the cancellation notice.
