Village Board to Review Library, Budget Timeline and Housing Code Update

The New Glarus Village Board will meet Wednesday, June 3, with a relatively full agenda that includes a library project update, the beginning of the 2027 budget process and a proposed zoning ordinance amendment tied to housing density in commercial areas.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Village Hall board room, 319 2nd Street.

One of the timeliest items on the agenda is another update on the New Glarus Public Library project. The update comes one day before the scheduled June 4 grand opening of the new library.

The board also will consider Ordinance 26-04, which would amend the village’s zoning code to adjust the minimum lot area required per dwelling unit in the C-1 Commercial District. The proposal follows review of the second phase of the Prairie Haus development and would bring the code more in line with existing multifamily housing in commercial areas.
