A Busy Week Ahead for Local Government
From fire district finances and a Village Park proposal to ATV/UTV access, downtown parking, road work and a Green County highway facility project, a packed slate of local government meetings will shape several issues in the week ahead.
Anyone interested in local government will have plenty to follow this week, with five meetings scheduled between Monday and Thursday involving the New Glarus Fire District, Village of New Glarus, Town of New Glarus and Green County.
Some meetings are largely administrative, while others include issues that could eventually produce visible changes around the community. Among the biggest topics are a proposed accessible viewing deck at Village Park, the continuing discussion over ATV and UTV access in the village, downtown parking, street resurfacing projects and a Green County highway facility project.
The week begins Monday evening with the New Glarus Fire District and gets considerably busier Wednesday and Thursday, when four additional local government meetings or hearings are scheduled.
