A GoFundMe fundraiser is supporting 16-year-old New Glarus High School student Sophie Vasquez after she was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday, July 7, near the intersection of Franklin and Bethel roads south of Monroe.
The fundraiser, titled “Help Support Sophie’s Recovery,” is available at https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-support-sophies-recovery-8ythh.
Sophie’s mother, Vicki Vasquez, said her daughter was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the crash and remained hospitalized Thursday at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison.
Vasquez described Sophie as a loving daughter, sibling and friend who plays soccer and basketball and has a deep love for animals. She asked the community to continue keeping Sophie in its thoughts and prayers as she begins what is expected to be a long recovery.
