Highway 69 Paving Starts This Week
The latest Highway 69 construction update says crews will begin asphalt milling Monday and paving Thursday between Wittenwyler Road and County F, while culvert work moves south of Wittenwyler and bridge work continues near County F.
The Highway 69 project is moving toward paving work this week, with asphalt milling scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 10, from just south of Wittenwyler Road to County F.
According to Jim Grender, project engineer for CGC, Inc., milling is expected to take two days, with asphalt paving from just south of Wittenwyler Road to County F scheduled to begin Thursday and continue into the following week.
The other major new item is culvert work south of Wittenwyler Road. Pipe culvert replacements are expected to begin Monday, starting with the first pipe just north of Washington Road, then continuing south to three other pipe locations between South Cold Spring Road and Allison Road.
North of Monticello, the latest update says pipe culvert replacements were expected to be completed Friday, Aug. 7. Starting Saturday, Aug. 8, a grading crew is expected to work at each pipe culvert location, removing material from within the roadway and replacing it with base aggregate.
