Highway 69 Work Moves to Culverts, Bridge Decking
Highway 69 remains closed to through traffic as crews prepare for another week of culvert work north of Monticello, bridge decking near County F, street lighting at the County C roundabout and driveway culvert work near Wittenwyler, Cemetery and Pierce roads.
The Highway 69 construction project enters August with crews expected to finish one deep pipe culvert south of Exeter Crossing Road and begin work on two more culverts between Exeter Crossing Road and Hefty Road.
According to the latest weekly construction update from Jim Grender, P.E., of CGC, Inc., the culvert south of Exeter Crossing Road started Friday, July 31, is expected to continue Saturday, Aug. 1, and finish Monday, Aug. 3.
The next two pipe culverts between Exeter Crossing Road and just north of Hefty Road are expected to be worked on Monday through Thursday, weather permitting. The first pipe south of Wittenwyler Road may begin late next week.
Highway 69 remains closed to through traffic between Monroe and New Glarus. Local access only is being maintained, and project officials continue to ask drivers to use alternate routes other than Highway 69 for their safety and the safety of workers.
