STOUGHTON, Wis. — The Monroe-New Glarus CheeseKnights relied on their depth, versatility and continued improvement to secure an 88-78 victory over Stoughton on Thursday.
Several CheeseKnights competed in back-to-back events, putting their conditioning to the test and delivering points when the team needed them. Monroe-New Glarus won five individual varsity events and both the 200-yard medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.
Chloe White produced one of the meet’s breakout performances, winning the 200 freestyle in 2 minutes, 27.90 seconds. She finished with a strong final 50 and lowered her time by more than 10 seconds from the CheeseKnights’ season-opening meet at DeForest.
Kennedy Shunk also made a significant improvement in the 200 freestyle, placing fourth in 2:42.31 and cutting eight seconds from her DeForest time.
