New Glarus Expands Brush Pickup Following Storm

Residents dealing with fallen branches and tree debris from last week's storms will have additional help from the Village of New Glarus as crews shift to weekly brush collection until storm cleanup is complete.

The Village of New Glarus Public Works Department announced that brush pickup, which normally occurs during the first full week of each month from April through October, will take place weekly for the foreseeable future as crews continue responding to widespread storm damage throughout the community.

According to Public Works Director Scott McNett, the goal is to help residents who may still be cleaning up limbs, branches and other storm-related debris.

"We just don't want people to feel overwhelmed and not be able to get rid of their stuff," McNett said. "So we're just trying to help out the best we can."
