New Glarus Gets .77 Inches of Rain Tuesday
New Glarus received 0.77 inches of rain Tuesday, pushing its August total above 3 inches. Even heavier rain fell to the east, while additional showers and thunderstorms are possible Thursday and again heading into the weekend.
New Glarus received 0.77 inches of rain during the latest 24-hour reporting period Tuesday, bringing the community’s August precipitation total to 3.01 inches.
Heavier rainfall was recorded in several communities to the east. Janesville received 1.43 inches, the highest total among the locations tracked, while Belleville picked up 1.40 inches. Evansville received 0.73 inches.
Those communities have also accumulated considerably more rain this month. Janesville has now received 6.57 inches in August, followed closely by Evansville at 5.46 inches and Belleville at 5.45 inches, according to Precip.com.
New Glarus, meanwhile, has now topped 3 inches for the month after receiving substantially less rain than Belleville and Janesville during Tuesday’s round.
